Annemone Delight

This year one of my goals was to photograph the wood annemones. So two weeks ago I decided that it was time to go out in the field. The sun was already shining so I went very early in the morning to the wood. It was amazing. You could hardly see them because the flowers were still closed and you saw only green fields. But as soon as the sun was toutching them they opened there beautiful fragile leaves towards the sun. It was amazing. Only me, the anemones and birds singing their song. Incredible.

Snowdrops fading away in the dark.

Last week on Tuesday I wanted to go to the botanic gardens in Utrecht but it was a mess with parking the car. I decided to go to Amelisweerd, the small forest where I used to live very close by. I was so glad I went to this place. I simple forgot how beautiful it is. The ground was covered with snowdrops almost out of blooming but then you know...... spring is coming.
The sun was shining but a lot of clouds were already on the way. I didn't need the sun too much anyway because I wanted to make some different shots with the snowflakes.
I played with the whitebalance because I like the colours to be cooler with snowdrops. And for the darker feeling I underexposed.

It turned out to be a great day laying on the ground between all these lovely white snowdrops.

My portfolio in the Noaber

I just returned home from a short holiday to the sun. And when I got home the Noaber (a regional magazin of Gelderland, Overrijsel and Drente ) was waiting for me on the doormat. I was really happy to see it,I couldn't wait because they placed a portfolio of my macro pictures in it. I feel so very lucky. Thank you everybody of the Noaber, Specially to Arie Ribbers and Hans-Peter Helder.

Fragile Dance

Hydrangea, at this time one of my favorite flowers. They look like fragile lace at the moment and I love them. I wanted to capture them as it looked like they were dancing. Just by using a small aperture.

I couldn't stop making pictures of them because they look so delicate and transparent. Sometimes the look like the transparent wings of a dragonfly waiting for the wind. Here I show some of my favorite.

A few months ago I got a lovely email from Jaap en Marja Burgers. I know Jaap from the www.zoom.nl site were I upload some foto's. Jaap apparently showed my pictures to Marja who is painting.

The idea was born that she really would love to paint some pictures of mine, so she asked if I was oke with that. I was so surprised. Who can say no to a big compliment like that. She was so enthusiastic and she had 2 favorites which she wanted to paint. Of course I was very curious and exited. You do not often get a change that your photo will be painted.

This week I got an email from Marja that both paintings were finished. And including 2 pictures of the beautiful paintings. I really was stunned. All those lovely details and beautiful colours. I really love them and couldn't wait to share them with you. They are very special to me.
